SM artists Super Junior (top) and f(x) (bottom)

Top Japanese talenthouse Avex has promised its full-fledged support of the careers of Korean agency SM Entertainment's artists.

The announcement was made on Avex's official website today, stating that they will continue to back the singing careers of SM's artists such as BoA, J-Min "and TVXQ who will resume their activities as a two-man band formed of members Yunho and Changmin."

The two firms have supported each other's artists for years now but their relationship had been in question after Avex signed with JYJ, former TVXQ members Jaejung, Yuchun and Junsu, when the three halted their activities with TVXQ by asking their contract to be nullified with SM.

A few months later, Avex abruptly suspended its relation with the three on reports that the chief of the boys' Korean management agency C-JeS was related to a criminal organization while affirming Avex will continue to represent TVXQ, although the future of the band was up in the air.

Then just two days ago, SM announced that TVXQ would make a comeback next January as a duo with the band's remaining members U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin.

In today's press release, Avex also said they have signed exclusive contracts with SM's 13-member boy band Super Junior and girl group f(x).

Founded by former singer Lee Soo-man in 1995, SM Entertainment is one of the most influential entertainment agencies in the country alongside YG and JYP Entertainment.

They are well-known for managing the successful singing careers of H.O.T and S.E.S and some of the biggest names in the K-pop market including Girls' Generation, Kangta, SHINee and TRAX.

“Super Junior” Sungmin cast in new drama “PRESIDENT”

Sungmin from popular 13-member boy band “Super Junior” has been cast in a new KBS drama which will premiere next month.

Feel-LimeEG Entertainment, producer of the drama, announced through a press release Monday that the singer will play the son of a president in an upcoming series titled "PRESIDENT” starring veteran actor Choi Su-jong.

Sungmin will star as a graduate student who wishes to follows his father’s footsteps to become a politician. In the story, however, his attempts to help with this father’s election campaign only gets him into trouble for using means that are less than justifiable.

“It’s an amazing coincidence that name of the president’s son in the drama is Sung-min too, and we believe he is made for the role,” officials with the show's producer were quoted as saying. “He a perfectly prepared actor, gifted not only in singing and dancing but also in acting.”

"PRESIDENT" will not be Sungmin's first attempt at acting -- he played the young-version of one of the main characters in MBC drama “Sea of Sisters” in 2005. The upcoming drama will be the first role he takes on as a grown-up.

“It’s been a while since I have acted so I can’t wait,” Sungmin said in the press release. “It’s different from the first time I acted. Stay tuned because I’d like to show how much I’ve changed.”

“PRESIDENT,” about civil rights lawyer Jang Il-joon's (Choi) journey to presidency, caught additional attention for the casting of actress Ha Hee-ra, the real wife of actor Choi, as the first lady.

The drama will air Wednesdays and Thursdays starting December 8 after “Fugitive: Plan B” starring Rain and Lee Na-young ends its run.

Super Junior Shindong stirs speculation about marriage

Super Junior member Shindong has stirred speculation that he may soon get married to his girlfriend.

While talking about a conversation he had with top Korean actor Jung Woo-sung, Shindong said on yesterday's episode of SBS variety show "Steel Heart" that Jung had told him he wants to attend Shindong's wedding.

"He said that he really wants to be at my wedding and that he hopes it's on a day that doesn't conflict with his schedule," the singer remarked.

Host Kang Ho-dong asked if that means the date of his nuptials will be anytime soon, to which the boy band member replied, "Coming soon."

In May, the singer had taken the public by surprise when he proposed to his girlfriend through a secret code in their fourth full-length album "BONAMANA." "Nari, let's get married, I'm proposing to you, I'll love you, forever," the code read.

He then proposed to his girlfriend on national television, saying "The one thing I most realized since meeting you is that my heart aches when you are not with me. I felt that I was always happy when you are with me. I want you to be happy with me forever. Marry me.”

However, an official from SM Entertainment denied a wedding was imminent. “The two families haven't arranged a formal meeting with each other yet because of their schedules. Shindong and Jung Nari (his girlfriend) are not planning on getting married right now but they want to get their approval," explained the official.

Shindong made his debut in the 13-member boy band Super Junior in 2005, releasing numerous hit records and songs including "Sorry, Sorry," "It's You," "Rukkugo" and "BONAMANA."

Outside of his singing career, Shindong has appeared on various entertainment programs as well as hosting his own radio show.

Heechul is the most successful MC idol

http://www.cute-smiley.comhttp://www.cute-smiley.com

Idols are in the middle of evolving. Saying that an idol only needs talents and good looks are already from the past. Having witty responses and personal talents in variety shows aren’t enough either. More and more idols are now heading towards the MC-ing positions, becoming the ‘MC Idols’ who receive a lot of attention. Successful examples include Super Junior’s Kim Heechul, SHINee’s Onew, Beast’s Kikwang etc.

Heechul should be the most successful one out of all the MC idols, with his clever mind and quick reactions. Even before debuting as a Super Junior member, Heechul started his career by hosting for Show Music Tank. Not long after debut, he switched to hosting for SBS Inkigayo. He also hosted his very own SBS radio show, Youngstreet, with Park Heebon until it stopped in the middle of 2006. He also continued being the host to Korea’s largest official concert Dream Concert from 2008-2010. It can also be said that he created history.

Shindong “met with SuJu is the best thing in my life..it is the best!”, interview with Shindong (worth reading)

“Should I say that this is the best meeting in my life? I felt like I had met with good people.”

This is what Shindong answered when being asked about the meaning of Super Junior. As he steps toward the tough world, Super Junior members are always his strongest foothold. It has been 6 years since debuted, now he had become one of the representative singers in Asia.

He said, there was a 180 degree change in his life before and after he met with Super Junior.

“At first I was an unthoughtful kid, but after becoming Super Junior, I had reached the peak in my life. From that moment onwards, my life raised up just like drawing a curved line. Should I say that this is the best meeting in my life? I felt like I had met with good people.”

Life is unreal if there is no tough thing like *새옹지마(塞翁之馬). In fact, he was once very worried about the contract termination issue of the Chinese member Hangeng.

“Although sometimes we may feel dissatisfied about the company’s decision, but it is also true that the company had put a lot of effort into us, then only we’re able to achieve good results like now and keep on moving. There’s rumour saying that the life duration of an idol will only last for 5 years. So in order to fight against that prejudice, I always discuss with the members and work harder. I want to show everyone our different side.”

Again he emphasized, “people tend to change once they became famous, but Super Junior is always the best in my life”, and “I will never give up”.

After watching Shindong’s performance in SBS upcoming drama ‘Doctor Champ’, where the first broadcast begins at 27th, we will understand the reason why Super Junior is receiving a lot of attention.

“I had participated in a drama before, but this time I really want to do my best. I want to show the good side of me to the members. Is this the reason why I felt so nervous? Or maybe acting is really that hard. (hahaha) It is even harder when the lines are just like daily conversation. When it was my first acting scene, I felt so nervous until I didn’t realized I was bitten by the mosquitoes.”

He makes an appearance as a judo player in the drama. During his first filming in the mountain, he was ‘super’ nervous, but this also created a ‘bigger’ desire in his mind.

“After I started to act, I realized that I really want to show more acting skills to the audiences through this drama. I had created a desire regarding this. Although I’m not the main lead of the drama, but through this opportunity I’m able to see the improvement in myself. I feel very excited when thinking about it.”

Super Junior is the most ‘discussed’ group, and the competition is also very intense among the members. However, Shindong always thought that this is the ‘best meeting in life’. The intense competition among the members is partly due to his desire to show his good side to the members.

“The tree will grow well only if its roots are strong and deep. Now I felt that I had slowly stepped into the world of acting, but still I will never lose my heart for Super Junior.”

*새옹지마(塞翁之馬) = the ups and downs of life.

Leaders of Super Junior and Girls Generation Dating? Is romance in the air of SM Town?

The leaders of two of the biggest groups -- literally and figuratively -- are caught up in the latest romance rumors. Lee-teuk of Super Junior and Te-yeon of Girls Generation were spotted wearing the same earring on the same ear, triggering speculations that the two may be dating.

Hawk-eyed netizens captured shots of Lee-teuk at the latest SM Town Live 10 World Tour in Jamsil, Seoul on August 21st, wearing an earring in his right ear. They then proceeded to compare that earring to the one worn by Tae-yeon in another picture from a red-carpet event of the movie "Super Bad" at the CGV Theatres of Wangshimni on September 7th. The online community was left scratching their heads wondering what the seemingly identical earrings shared by the idol stars could symbolize.

Various comments started being posted: "It's possible because they're both signed under SM Entertainment", "Lee-teuk and Tae-yeon are extra sweet just to each other", "Fans may not want to admit it, but it appears to be true that they're dating", "Anyone can coincidentally wear the same earring", "Could it just be mere coincidence?".?

One of the reasons why merely identical earrings are causing such a fuss is because this isn't the first time that Lee-teuk and Tae-yeon have been caught sporting the same jewelry.?Last March, the two idol-group leaders wore spotted wearing the same necklace having launched a whirlwind of speculation.
