Vampires Suck

Apparently, one can even go wrong with a parody film based on ‘Twilight’. Just how difficult can it get?

What's it about : As a spoof of the 'Twilight' saga, 'Vampires Suck' circles around Becca Crane, Edward Sullen and Jacob White in the town called Sporks, where Becca goes to a new school and finds herself drawn to the ever pale Edward. She soon falls in love with him but Edward tries to distance himself away from her, in fear of sucking her dry. The rest, well, you should know the story by heart.

What we love : As a newcomer, Jenn Proske nails the role of Becca Crane like a pro - down to the lip-biting, hair-swaying, chin-down Kristen Stewart's Bella - we simply enjoyed her performance throughout the show.

What we loathe : Well, the funny bits were left in the trailer so there's nothing much to look forward to in the film. In other words, it pretty much sucked.

Verdict : Silly one-liners, check. Nonsensical punch scenes, check. Underdeveloped characters, check (read: Jacob). Lazy story-telling, check. In other words, the movie lived up to its title. Back to directing school, Jason and Aaron. 1.5 stars
