BEAST to perform with R&B singer Omarion today

Korean idols BEAST will be performing with U.S. R&B singer Omarion today, according to the group's agency CUBE Entertainment on Friday.

An official from CUBE told 10Asia over the phone that the boys will take to the stage with the R&B artist for his first performance in the country at Club Answer located in the southern district of Gangnam in Seoul.

"BEAST will not be singing but dance alongside Omarion," the official explained, adding that the two met yesterday at CUBE’s office to practice their performance.

Yesterday, Omarion had also made a guest appearance on stage with the boy band who received an award at the 4th annual cable music channel Mnet's "20's Choice" held at the Sheraton Walker Hill Hotel.

The collaboration between the two came about after Omarion, who saw a video of the boys dancing to his single "Ice Box" during one their showcases, said he wanted to perform with the boys for his first performance in Korea.

Omarion, 27, made his debut in 2001 as the lead singer of the R&B/Hip-hop group B2K. He then went onto pursue a solo career after the group disbanded in 2004, releasing his first album "O" in 2005 and starred in several Hollywood movies such as "You Got served" (2004) and "Somebody Help Me" (2007).

BEAST, a six-member boy band, splashed onto the local music scene in October 2009 with their mini-album "Beast Is The B2ST" and have several hit songs including "Bad Girl," "Shock" and Easy." They have been promoting their singing career overseas in several countries in Asia.
